PROJECT MENTORS - (10-month commitment)
Eligibility: Adult professionals and college students.
This is a 10-month volunteering position that involves guiding a team of GLP Scholars as they endeavor to make a positive impact on their communities. It is a highly rewarding opportunity to work closely with and make an impact on Chicago youth. For more information and additional eligibility requirements, please see our website (http://blogs.iit.edu/boeing_scholars/getinvolved/become-a-project-mentor).

COLLEGE AND CAREER MENTORS (10-month commitment)
Eligibility: Adult professionals and college students.
College and Career Mentors support our scholars as they navigate the college application process. From reviewing essays and helping Scholars prepare for interviews to discussing potential majors and initial college course selection, mentors play an integral role in supporting our students’ pursuit of higher education. For more information and additional eligibility requirements, please see our website

Eligibility: College students and older.
We welcome volunteers to help our rising seniors each prepare five college applications. Volunteers will read and help students revise college application essays, give feedback about their descriptions of extracurricular activities, help students research different schools, and give general college preparation advice. We will hold multiple 2-3 hour workshops, at times to be announced, throughout August and early September. A short training will be given to volunteers.

We are in the middle of our 2015 application season, and applications are rolling in from high school sophomores all over Chicago. To make our application process as fair and sustainable as possible, we seek volunteers to evaluate applications. Evaluators will learn about what matters to the brightest, most passionate students in Chicago while reading their program applications. Your input helps ensure we continue to serve scholars who will deeply benefit from the program and who will contribute to its continued success.

Students’ applications are all available electronically, and all evaluations can be completed online at your convenience (between February 19th and March 16th). Volunteers can make whatever time commitment that is best for them, starting with evaluating a minimum of 12 applications. We estimate each application to take 10-20 minutes to evaluate.

We'll be interviewing approximately 125 diverse, talented sophomores from across the Chicagoland area. Interviews start at the end of March. Each Finalist will get a one-on-one interview with a current Global Leaders Program staff member, as well as a small group interview (3-4 scholars + 2 volunteer interviewers).
Volunteer interviewers will receive a set of questions and detailed instructions to facilitate the small-group interview. We're excited to meet these students, and we think you would be too!

Interviews will start in early April and will primarily take place over CPS’ Spring Break (April 18-22nd). Volunteer Interviewers can sign-up for one-day or multiple days. Interviews will be held during the day, as well as the early evening.
