As a new IIT student, we have created a unique identifier (UID) for you. This username will will allow you to:
• Access your IIT email account
• Join the Undergraduate Orientation Group (OG) on the myIIT portal
• Read and post to the OG message board
• Chat online with orientation counselors
• Review your financial aid award
• Start the advising and registration process
Your UID is also your IIT email account username and your login for IIT's networking and computing services. Anytime you need to use resources online that are restricted to IIT members (such as the myIIT portal, computer labs, the IIT network, etc.), the system will prompt you for your UID and password. Your UID will remain the same during your entire IIT experience. A UID is usually comprised of the first letter of your first name and up to seven letters of your last name. When people have similar names, numbers are added to the end of a username to distinguish between the accounts. You can look up your UID by going here.
To begin using IIT technology resources, go to the university Web portal (myIIT) and log in with the following information:
Username (UID): Your UID
Initial password: MMDDXXXX,
where MMDD is the 2-digit month and 2-digit day you were born and XXXX is the last 4 digits of your student ID (CWID).
If you are unable to log in to myIIT, review the help information on the myIIT login page or contact the Office of Technology Services Support Desk at 312.567.3375.
Once you log in using your initial password, you will be prompted to change your password. Make sure you choose a password that uses a combination of letters and numbers and is something you will be able to remember.
As always, please don't hesitate to contact our office if you have any additional questions at 312.567.3025, 800.448.2329 (toll-free), or admission@iit.edu. We look forward to welcoming you on our campus.
Sincerely,
