IIT: July Update

With the end of summer fast approaching and the Cubs (and perhaps our neighbors the White Sox) once again hunting for the pennant, the beginning of the academic year is - for me - one of the most beautiful times of year on campus.

On August 19, we welcomed 530 first-year students and an additional 175 transfer students to the IIT campus - students hailing from nearly 35 states and approximately 25 countries. That day impacted the admission staff because it was the conclusion of a journey that we shared with many students and families over the past year. And yet, it was a time of new beginnings for so many.

As we look forward to the coming year, we wish for you the excitement that comes with the feeling that you are ready to explore the world and consider new ways in which you see yourself. You may ask yourself, as so many of our students do, "How will I make a difference in the world?" We think that for many of you, IIT will be just the place to begin an adventure of a lifetime.

As you embark on your college admission process, we wish to let you know that IIT is now also accepting the Innovative Application, the Universal College Application, and the Common Application. All applications are considered equally by the Admission Committee. Please select the one that works best for you.

We welcome and appreciate your interest in IIT.

Sincerely,

Gerald P. Doyle
