NEW IIT PRESIDENT BEGINS FIRST TERM
John L. Anderson began his first full week as the eighth president of IIT with a press conference promoting alternative energy research and development with Congressman Dan Lipinksi. Anderson was elected as president in May.
Signs throughout campus greeted Anderson as he made his way to his new office in Perlstein Hall last week. "I am very pleased to be on campus and appreciate the warm welcome from the IIT community," said Anderson. "I look forward to getting to know our students, faculty, and staff, and to working with each of you to make the upcoming academic year a success."
Anderson was most recently the provost of Case Western Reserve University. Prior to Case, he served for 28 years at Carnegie Mellon University, including eight years as Dean of the College of Engineering. Anderson belongs to the National Academy of Engineering, is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, has lectured at universities worldwide, and is the author of more than 100 journal articles and book chapters. IIT'S STUART SCHOOL OF BUSINESS APPOINTS THREE NEW PROFESSORS
Illinois Institute of Technology's (IIT) Stuart School of Business recently announced the appointment of three new professors, including Dr. M. Krishna Erramilli, who will assume his duties as Professor of Marketing and Director of Stuart's MBA Program in August. His research interests include International Marketing Strategy, Foreign Market-Entry Strategy, Competitive Advantage of Global Firms, and Growth Strategies in Emerging Markets.
Dr. Erramilli's 30 years of professional experience spans North America, Africa, and Asia. He worked in industry in India and Nigeria and taught in universities in the U.S. and Singapore. Prior to joining Stuart, he was a faculty member and Associate Dean in the Nanyang Business School, Singapore, one of the largest business schools in Asia, ranked one of the top 70 schools in the world.
