Two weeks ago, Professor Jialing Xiang hosted the first Science Chicago at IIT event: "Cancer Cells in a Microscope." Participants viewed dying cells under a microscope and learned how defects in cell death can lead to cancer.
The next Illinois Institute of Technology Science Chicago event, "Bridge-Building Techniques and Demonstrations," will be held on Friday, October 17, from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Award-winning teacher and IIT alumnus Roy Coleman, who started the International Bridge-Building Contest for students more than 20 years ago, will be speaking at the event, explaining the science behind these structures.
